Announcing Our 2017 Grant Finalists

We’re pleased to announce the five finalists that will compete for our $100,000 high-impact grant at the 12th annual Impact 100 Annual Awards Celebration on June 13, 2017!

  • Arts and Culture: Artist and Public Life Residency, BigCar Collaborative
  • Education: Workplace Simulation Project Plus, DirectEmployers Institute
  • Environment: Environmental Learning Center, Marian University
  • Family: Fresh Start Recovery, Volunteers of America
  • Health and Wellness: License to Drive and Yearn to Earn, Children’s Bureau

The 221 women who are 2017 members of Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis have collectively given $160,000 to this year’s grant pool. One hundred percent of these funds will be granted during the annual celebration. In addition to the $100,000 the winner of the high-impact grant will receive, each remaining finalist will receive a $15,000 residual grant. This will bring the Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis grant total to $1.917 million since 2006.

“It is incredible to think what has been achieved by the nonprofits who have received our grants over the past 12 years, and that nearly 700 women have made it possible for Impact 100 to give over $1.9 million to our community, ” said Beth Thomas, president of Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis. “Each year our members give individually so we can collectively impact our community. The only thing that would make this better is for more women to join us in the powerful experience of women giving as one, allowing us to support more nonprofits. Our dream is to be able to give $500,000 in one year, $100,000 to a nonprofit in each of our five focus areas.”

To date, 13 local nonprofits have received $100,000 and 31 have received residual grants as a result of our collective giving. Previous high-impact grantees include: The IMPACT Program to Curb Runaway and Human Trafficking of Young Girls/Ascent 121 and Lutheran Child and Family Services (2016), Indianapolis Parks Foundation for Indy Urban Acres Flower Farm (2015); Social Health Association of Indiana (2014); Tindley Collegiate (2013); Jameson Camp, Inc. (2012); Outside the Box, Inc. (2011); Rock Steady Boxing (2010); Outreach, Inc. (2009); Herron High School and Horizon House (2008); Indy Reads and Craine House/Fairbanks (2007); and Eskenazi Health Center Pecar (2006).

Tickets to the dinner are available for $50 per person and can be purchased by nonmembers until May 31, 2017 on the Impact 100 website at www.impact100indy.org/join/event-registration.

Congratulations to our finalists!
