Impact Members Attend Red Carpet Screening of Residual Grant Winning Film

Attucks: The School That Opened a City premiered on Thursday, August 18 at the Madame Walker Theatre. The film, a 2015 Residual Grant winner produced by Ted Green with WFYI, was screened before an audience of over 1000, including many noted Attucks grads who came from all over the country to attend. The story of this school is an important part of the Indianapolis story, and the pride of the graduates in attendance was palatable. As Madame Walker Theatre became Hollywood for the night, there was a red carpet and photographers capturing the moment. The film will be shown at Indianapolis high schools in the next few weeks, has been submitted to numerous film festivals, and will air on public television (including WFYI) in September. It is also available for purchase from Heartland Films and WFYI for $20.
