Previous Grant Winner News: 5×5 Awards $10,000 to Herron High School Faculty Member

A faculty member of Herron High School (a past Impact 100 grant winner) was awarded the 5×5: Indianapolis Arts and Innovation prize. The $10,000 prize was awarded to math teacher Adrian Pumphrey for his idea of an Indianapolis Young Songwriter’s Guild, a place for young musicians, writers and producers to come together.

The grant, along with three other $10,000 grants awarded at other 5×5 events earlier this year, was provided by the Central Indiana Community Foundation, the Efroymson Family Fund, and the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation. The purpose of the 5×5 contest is to award grants to ideas that will enhance city life.

At each 5×5 event, the audience votes for one of five finalists who must complete their presentation in five minutes using only five slides – a model very similar to Impact 100’s!  Each event is hosted by a different community-focused organization. The latest event was hosted by the Harrison Center for the Arts on September 6th.
